Exclusive Interview with David Chandler

Today, we're doing something a little different. This is our 18th guest author interview on the Marie Lavender's Books! blog, and fellow author David Chandler is visiting us.

Hello!

Hi. Thank you for letting me visit.

My pleasure! :)

Can you tell us a little bit about your latest book? When did it come out and where can we get it?

The Hunter's Moon came out in September and you can get it on Amazon and other sellers. The book is about a medical researcher experimenting on how to use mutagens to force the human body in strengthening its immune response.

Interesting!

So, did anything prompt this book? Something that inspired you?

It was in direct response to the war on terror, but something ended up happening. A lab assistant David Bronson found himself undergoing a metamorphosis into a creature in times of blood lust.

Wow! Isn't it great how the muse works?

So, when did you know you wanted to write?  Or has it always been a pastime of yours?

I've always been interested in science...particularly medicine involving the human anatomy. When I was in college, I was a pre-med major and it inspired me to write science fiction all the more.

I knew I wanted to be a writer when I was in college actually. But before then, it was something to pass time. My imagination was running wild, characters were talking to me and I had to answer them (for the sake of sounding like I have dissociate identity disorder).

Well, I can certainly relate to that! LOL. The characters are always in control.

Do you have any favorite authors, David?

Stephen King and Octavia Butler (she was the one that really inspired me).

Great!

So, just to let you know, we're curious...

Do you write in a specific place? Or time of day?

I typically write a night. That's where all my ideas come from.

Me too! It's odd how it tends to happen more often at night.

David, are there any words you'd like to impart to fellow writers? Any advice?

I'd say keep writing. Keep creating. There are going to be those that discourage you, try to prevent you from achieving your dreams, but push forth.

Oh, I fully agree...

That's great advice!

Thanks so much for stopping by! It was such a pleasure to have you here.  :)

Readers, here is the blurb for The Hunter's Moon.

Colorado college detectives Malenski and Reinhart investigate the brutal slayings of two college students at an abandoned resort, which leads them into the research of Doctor Walter Gorman--a world-renowned microbiologist and genetics researcher working for an anti-terrorist task force in the United States Government. Gorman was in charge of a research project that involved the usage of the retrovirus S-12. The virus was designed to force the human body to produce a certain type of white blood cells, enhancing the immune system. But after exposing the virus to two lab assistants, Gorman later discovered that there was more to his research than he thought.
